Add up to 200 names and spin the wheel to pick one at random. The winning name is drawn first with a secure random number, and the wheel then spins to land on it, so every name on the wheel has exactly the same 1 in N chance and the spin itself changes nothing.

How to spin the wheel with your own names

    1. Type or paste your entries into the box, one name per line. Names, tasks, prizes and classroom questions all work.
    2. Watch the wheel build itself as you type. Each entry gets its own slice, and a name typed twice gets two slices.
    3. Press the spin button. The wheel turns for about four seconds and settles on the winner.
    4. Read the winning name where the pointer lands. It was picked before the wheel started moving, and the spin just shows you the result with some drama.
    5. Spin again for the next round, and download the winners list as a text file whenever you need a record of who came up.

There is nothing to set up and nothing to save. The wheel on screen is the whole tool, and your list stays in your browser from start to finish.

The winner is picked before the wheel even moves

Most people assume the physics of the spin decides the result, that a harder spin or a lucky bounce changes the outcome. On this wheel it cannot. The winning entry is drawn first, using the secure random source built into your browser, and the animation is then worked out backwards so the wheel lands on that slice.

That order matters. It means the length of the spin, the speed of your device and a stuttering screen cannot nudge the result. A slow laptop and a fast one hand the entry the exact same chance, because the draw is finished before the first frame of the animation is drawn.

Equal slices are the other half of the fairness story. With 40 names on the wheel, each name holds one fortieth of the circle and a 1 in 40 chance. Nothing is weighted, nothing is boosted, and there is no house favourite quietly given a wider slice.

Labels tell you when to pay attention to the list itself. Up to 60 entries, every slice carries its name. Past 60, the slices keep spinning but the labels come off, because text that small cannot be read anyway. Keep your own copy of a long list in order, so you can match the winning slice to the name.

No rigged mode, and other honest limits of this wheel

Plenty of people search for a wheel they can quietly fix, so let this be plain. This wheel cannot be fixed. There is no setting, mode or hidden trick that lets you choose the winner, and there never will be, because a riggable wheel is just a way of lying to the people watching it. If you need a guaranteed name to win, announce that name and skip the wheel.

The draw is also not audited or certified. It is an honest picker for classrooms, giveaways among friends, team nights and content streams. Regulated promotions with entry fees and prizes often carry legal rules about how winners are drawn, and a web page wheel does not satisfy those rules.

The entry limit is 200. Past that point a list is better handled by the plain name picker on this site, which draws without the theatre. And there are no weights here. Every entry counts once, so a wheel where some names deserve better odds is a job for a different method entirely.

Your entries are not uploaded or saved. Close the page and the wheel, the list and the spin history are gone, so download the winners list before you leave if it matters.

    FAQs

Can I rig this wheel so a certain name wins?

No, and that is deliberate. The winner is drawn with a secure random number before the wheel moves, and there is no rigged mode, secret weighting or predetermined winner feature anywhere in the tool. If an outcome has to be guaranteed, a random wheel is the wrong prop for it.

How many names can the wheel hold?

Up to 200 entries, one per line. Slice labels are shown for up to 60 entries. Beyond that the wheel still draws every slice and every entry keeps its equal chance, but the names are no longer printed on the slices because they would be too small to read.

What happens if a name appears twice on my list?

It gets two slices, so it has twice the chance of a name listed once. That is handy when entries were earned twice, and a trap when it is a pasting mistake. Give the list a quick read before a spin that matters.

Is every spin independent of the last one?

Yes. Each spin is a fresh draw from the full list as you left it, and a name that just won has the same chance on the next spin as everyone else. Winning does not use up luck, and losing does not build any up.

Can I save my wheel and come back to it?

There is no account and no save button, and your list is never sent anywhere. Keep the names in a text file on your device and paste them back in when you need the wheel again. It rebuilds itself as you paste.

Is this wheel fair enough for a prize giveaway?

For a friendly giveaway, yes. Every entry gets an equal chance and the winner is picked before the animation, not by it. For a regulated promotion with entry fees or advertised prizes, the draw may need to be audited under local rules, and this wheel makes no claim to cover that.
