Write any date in Roman numerals in every layout at once, checked against the real calendar and read back as proof.

Enter a day, month and year and this tool writes the date in Roman numerals in every common layout at once, then reads its own answer back and prints the plain date as a check. It runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and there is no sign-up.
There is no single correct layout, and any page claiming one is overselling. The order of the parts follows your region and your taste. Much of the world writes day, month, year. The United States usually puts the month first. Year first suits archives and anyone who sorts dates for a living.
The separator is a style choice of the same kind. Dots give a compact, engraved look, and they are the most common pick for jewellery and watches. Dashes read cleaner on printed invitations. Slashes feel plain and modern. Spaces suit inscriptions where punctuation would clutter the line.
The stacked layout puts one part per line, day over month over year, or in whichever order you picked. It is the popular choice for tattoos because it sits well on a wrist, a shoulder or a ribcage, and each part gets room to breathe. The year on its own covers the other classic job, marking a birth year, a founding year or an anniversary.
The read-back check is the part to trust most. After building the layouts, the tool converts its own numeral date back into a plain date and prints it. If that plain date matches the one you entered, the numerals on screen say what you meant them to say.
Dates are checked against the real calendar before anything is converted. February has 29 days in a leap year and 28 in every other year, April, June, September and November have 30, and the rest have 31. Enter 30 February, or 29 February in a year that is not a leap year, and the tool refuses with the reason stated, instead of converting a date that never happened.
Years run from 1 to 3999, the span the classical numeral system covers with its ordinary letters. That comfortably includes every birthday, wedding and anniversary anyone is likely to convert. A year outside that span is refused with the limit named.
For anything permanent, one habit matters above the rest. Have a second person read the numerals back against the plain date before the design is final. The read-back check on this page does the same job in software, and a human pair of eyes on top of it is cheap insurance against living with one wrong letter.
Nothing about your date is stored or sent anywhere. Birth dates and anniversaries are personal, so the conversion happens on your own device and the fields forget everything when you leave the page.
The stacked layout, one part per line, is the most popular for tattoos because it fits narrow spaces and reads cleanly. The order is still your choice. Whatever you pick, use the read-back check and have a second person verify the numerals against the plain date before the appointment.
Yes. The date is validated against the real calendar first. 29 February is accepted only in leap years, and impossible dates like 31 April are refused with the reason printed, rather than quietly rolled into the next month.
The tool refuses it and tells you why. February never has 30 days, in any year, so there is no honest numeral version of that date to show. The same applies to any day past the end of its month.
None of them, on its own. Day month year is standard across most of the world, month day year is the American habit, and year first is common in formal and technical writing. Pick the order your audience will read naturally.
Any year from 1 to 3999, which covers every date a person is realistically marking, from a new baby to a grandparent. The day and month fields take any real calendar date inside those years.
Yes. The year on its own is one of the layouts printed with every conversion, alongside the full dates with dots, dashes, slashes and spaces and the stacked version. Birth years and anniversary years are common reasons to want it.
